Getradar is a program for easy automatic downloading of weather images.  It was created for the purpose of collecting data for storm research and tracking migrating hawks with the Nation Weather Service WSR-88 radar system.  The programs are written in Perl and are free for use and personal modification.    There are also Windows 9X/NT/2000 executable versions available.

Radproc is a program for filtering out unwanted values from the radar images.  It has an easy to use interface in Getradar or it can be run stand-alone from the command line.

            - resizeable control windows for people with small screens.

                       - Changed search order for radproc filtering program.  Looks for *.exe first
                           then *.pl.   Fixes problem with people who couldn't run filtering because
                           both .exe and .pl version were in the directory, but perl wasn't installed.

                    Updated for NWS image download and filtering.

Installation Instructions:

    1) Create a new directory for it such as  c:\getradar.

    2) Download getradar_full.zip

    3) Use Winzip to unzip the file in the same directory.

    4) Use explorer to drag the getradar.exe file onto your desktop.

    5) Just double click the desktop icon when you want to run getradar.

    6) optionally you may want to create some sub directories for data and processed images:
           c:\getradar\download  - Put downloaded images here.
           c:\getradar\out            - Put processed images here.
